So, these are the main signs of a malfunctioning speed sensor in your car: The speedometer isn’t working A harsh or slipping transmission Cruise control doesn’t work Check engine light comes on
About a week ago, the ABS, traction control and red steering wheel lights popped. Ran the codes with Techstream and they are C1464, C1466 and C1541. Two are wheel speed sensors and the third is for the vehicle speed sensor. It seems odd that three codes for speed sensors would occur simultaneously. Is there a root cause that may lead to this
2. Inconsistent cooling. Another symptom of a bad or failing ambient temperature sensor is inconsistent cooling. As the ambient temperature sensor plays a direct role in the automated function of the AC system, when it is having a problem this may interfere with the system’s ability to cool the vehicle. If the ambient temperature sensor fails

Failure Date: 09/15/2020. Tl the contact owns a 2015 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle jerked, shifted gears, reduced speed, the odometer flashed, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the heating and air conditioning system went from cold to hot. The contact got off the nearest exit and
Over time, the transmission range sensor may begin to fail or wear out. If the transmission range sensor fails or suffers a malfunction, there are a number of symptoms that could appear. 1. Car does not start or cannot move. Without a proper Park/Neutral position input from the transmission range sensor, the PCM will not be able to crank the
If it does, that’s a good indication that the vehicle speed sensor is fine. If cruise control isn’t working, the VSS is likely at fault. After testing the cruise control, you want to move on to the VSS and the wiring going to and from it. 4. Use a Scanner to Determine if the VSS is Reporting any Speed . Plug a good scanner into the OBD II port.
You guys have two "speed" sensors. One is the vehicle speed sensor, which is not the problem that code 720 refers to. The second is the transmission output speed sensor which you need to deal with. You might gets some help from my post (it's #56) to this thread: Replacing the Transmission Speed Sensors - JeepForum.com

If you’re experiencing issues with your vehicle’s speedometer or noticing irregularities in the way your car is moving, it’s possible that there may be a problem with the rear propshaft
The Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor is another magnetic sensor that monitors the speed of the transmission output shaft. This signal is also used to control the torque converter clutch, gear shifting and internal pressure. Shift Solenoids SSA, SSB and SSC control the operation of the three shift valves.
Perhaps the speedometer works intermittently, or you get a code for the speed sensor, such as P0501. Inspect the wiring leading up to the speed sensor and any grounds used by that sensor. If the wiring looks good, replacing the speed sensor should resolve the problem. Can You Drive Without a Speedometer?

If your vehicle has a faulty transmission speed sensor, it might show the following symptoms: Jerky Gear Changes. The PCM needs data from the speed sensors to shift smoothly. The PCM typically takes into account an array of factors including the driver’s throttle position and the vehicle’s current speed to determine when to shift.
